Attractions
Pygmy Hippo: The pygmy hippos, as the name implies, are smaller than the relatives of their hippos. When mature, the pygmy hippo weigh only a few hundred pounds and is only one meter tall. They may be “small”, but their personalities are very large.
Aldabra Giant Tortoise: This tortoise comes from the Aldabra Atoll island north of Madagascar, Native Aldabras is the last species of giant tortoise in the eastern hemisphere. They are not only tall, but the Aldabra turtle also has an extraordinary personality. Zoo Tampa is the habitat of three adult Aldabra turtles. Every day, the zoo calls guests to interact with the turtles and create shells at a special encounter with the Aldabra turtle.
Great One Horned Rhinoceros: There are five types of rhinos throughout the world, each of which plays a unique role in its environment and throughout the ecosystem. Here at ZooTampa, there are these two wonderful species: the southern white rhinoceros and the unicorn rhinoceros. This gentle giant, commonly known as the Indian rhinoceros, is a rare and endangered species. Unlike white southern rhinos, Indian rhinos are one of only two that have a single horn and their skin looks like armor that makes them truly unique.
