Get Brave at the Disney World Resort
To celebrate the premiere of Pixar’s latest film, Brave, Disney World is offering several movie themed opportunities for guests to enjoy. For a limited time, you can meet Merida, learn about archery, or even take part in a fun mini version of the Highland Games at select Disney locations.
Meet Merida: Visit the Magic Kingdom and you’ll be able to meet Merida, the star of the new movie. Merida is set up in the Fairytale Garden, next to Cinderella Castle. This location is on the Tomorrowland side of the castle — if you bump into the Fairy Godmother or the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, you’re on the wrong side of the castle!
This spot includes a fun mini archery lesson, photo ops and even a coloring station, so it is a fun activity one for kids. Expect to wait in line for up to an hour to meet Merida if you visit during a busy time — head here before the appointed meet and greet time and snag a place in line early, and you’ll spend less time waiting.
Highland Games, Epcot: Running now through July, the Rose Garden section of Future World has been transformed into a mini version of the Scottish Highlands. Kids can play in an interactive Brave-themed fun zone (and adults can enjoy the free WiFi) now through July 7, 2012.
Archery Lessons, Fort Wilderness: Fort Wilderness has long been a prime destination for recreation in Disney World, with horseback riding, fishing, singalongs and more. The addition of archery lessons brings one more fun activity to this bustling area, and is sure to please Brave fans.
Expect to see Brave merchandise and opportunities throughout out the summer as the movie hits theaters and drives interest in the parks.
