A haircut at Walt Disney World? It may sound a little crazy, but the Magic Kingdom is actually home to one of the most magical barber shops you can imagine, the Harmony Barber Shop. It offers everything from a kid’s first haircut to adult trims and styling, although nervous youngsters are the shop’s specialty.

A great way to save time plus add to the magical experience is to get your kids haircut at Disney World.

If you have a child who’s ready for that very first haircut, the Harmony Barber Shop transforms it into a fun and memorable experience. What kind of magic can you expect? From pixie dust to Mickey Mouse stickers to a special certificate to embroidered commemorative mouse ears, your child will be grinning from ear to ear by the time the haircut is done.

Older kids, teens, and adults can get in on the fun, too. Plain haircuts are available, but why not get a sprinkling of pixie dust or some colored hair gel while you’re in the barber’s chair? After all, this is Walt Disney World!

The Harmony Barber Shop is right on Main Street USA, next door to the car barn, and it’s open seven days a week. Hours are typically 9 a.m, to 5 p.m. If you’re there at the right time (usually around noon), you might be treated to a barbershop quartet serenade by the Dapper Dans, who also perform out in the park each day.

Appoints are available by phone via 407-WDW-DINE. Walk-ins are also accpted, but trust me, it’s best to have an appointment . The shop is very popular, and the standby waits get extremely long.

For a more mainstream haircut experience, visit the salons at the Contemporary Resort, the Yacht and Beach Club, the Grand Floridian Resort, or Coronado Springs Resort. You don’t have to be staying at a Disney Orlando hotel to get your hair done there.

If you have a little princess looking for a style and some primping and pampering rather than a haircut, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is the perfect spot. The boutique has locations in Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom or at the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney. Theme park admission is required for the Magic Kingdom location, so head to Downtown Disney if you don’t want to use your ticket.

Young ladies between the ages of 3 and 12 get a special style from a Fairy Godmother in training at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. In addition to a hairstyle fit for a princess, the various packages include options like shimmering make-up, nail polish, a special sash, a cinch bag, t-shirt, or even a full Disney Princess costume with wand and tiara. The most expensive package also includes professional photos of your little girl’s magical transformation into royalty.

Have a little boy who’d like to be knighted? He can get his hair styled, too, and get his very own sword and shield as souvenirs of his magical experience.

Reservations are recommended. Book your child’s appointment by calling 407-WDW-STYLE.
