Everyone should be granted the chance to enjoy a fun-filled Orlando vacation, which is why parks like Disney World ensure guests with disabilities have everything they need to feel comfortable and welcomed.
So, if you’ve been eyeing one of the many Disney World packages available, you should also know about the park’s Disability Access Service program (DAS). Created for guests who may experience difficulties in conventional lines and long waits, this “dash pass” can be exactly what some visitors need to enjoy their getaway to the fullest.
Still, due to high demand, it’s a good idea to reserve your pass in advance. Don’t worry; this article will walk you through all the necessary steps so you can get back to researching the best vacation homes near Disney World to spend your stay at.
Register for the DAS Program
You can always register for the DAS program upon your arrival at Disney World’s Guest Relations, but signing up beforehand is always the most time-efficient option. Fortunately, the process is incredibly simple!
On Disney World’s official site, you will need to request a live video chat with a Cast Member at least two days before your planned visit — and no more than 30 days in advance. If you are approved for the program, you will be registered with DAS for up to 60 days, though you can always re-register afterwards to extend the period.
Some considerations to keep in mind before scheduling your video chat include:
- Disney Accounts: Be sure to create a Disney account beforehand, as you’ll need to log into it before continuing with your call.
- Age of Participant: If the guest requesting DAS registration is under 18 years of age, they will need a parent/guardian to be present throughout the call.
- Accessibility: Unfortunately, Disney’s DAS registration live chat is solely offered in English. However, it is accessible for individuals with visual disabilities and/or hearing disabilities.
Live calls are available between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. ET.
Planning Your Trip With DAS
Once you’ve successfully pre-registered, you’ll have the opportunity to select up to 2 experiences as early as 30 days before your trip to the park. Upon your arrival, you can redeem these with your Magic Band at the attraction’s entrance, which activates a one-hour return window. Enjoying Disney World’s signature magic experiences has never been easier!
