Top Things to do in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter

With all the attention that the new part of Islands of Adventure at Universal Orlando is bringing to the theme park world, also comes a lot of people. How much is a lot? Well, at least five thousand people were in line before the park even opened on the first day it was open to the public, which was very early- 6:00 am. These crowds are promised to be the case for a long time to come. So, if you are planning a trip to this new attraction, you will want to plan ahead to be sure that you get to enjoy the best the park has to offer.

The most talked about ride that people are calling a must-do is Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. This ride lets you journey through the classrooms that Harry and his friends sat in and all through Hogwarts Castle. You will get to feel what it is like to fly through the air, flipping and soaring high above the grounds at the School of Wizardry. Coming close to magical creatures that you have only read about or seen in movies is like a dream.

The next thing you want to be sure to do while at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is Dragon Challenge. This is a roller coaster ride that will thrill even the most die-hard coaster riders. The ride consists of two dragons. Park guests get to choose which dragon to ride and throughout the experience, the two dragons race around and come very close to crashing into one another. Each dragon has a different path or track, so you’ll want to try each one before leaving the park.

One stop you must make is to Ollivander’s. If you recall, this is the special shop where young wizards go to find their personal wand, or rather, the wand finds them. The store looks so much like the one in the movies, that you really must experience it first hand. And yes, you can actually purchase wands there.

Some of the other stores are also fascinating, like Honeydukes. This sweets shop is fun to visit, but also offers a grand variety of candies and treats that kids and adults love. Just seeing the candy displays is an adventure.

Another ride that children will definitely want to try is Flight of the Hippogriff. This is a roller coaster ride, but it is the perfect size and speed for kids.

Even if all you had the opportunity to do in this new attraction was to look around and walk through the scenery, it would be worth it. If you are a Harry Potter fan, you will want to make a trip to Orlando as soon as possible. Never before have fans had the chance to experience their favorite movie in such a realistic way.
