You want to visit Universal Studios but you want to get the lowest possible price on your package. The good news is that it may be more affordable than you think. Read on to get the best tips and tricks to ensure you get the best Universal Studios packages deals.
Book your lodging and theme park tickets together
The number one thing you can do to get the best Universal studios packages is to stick to the packages themselves. You could book your hotel, then find the best price on discount theme park tickets, but not only would this waste precious time, but you’d end up paying more. How much more? On average, we can save a guest 12% compared to what they’d pay for tickets and lodging separately.
Book your package as early as possible
As soon as you know when you’ll be traveling, book your Universal Studios packages. Remember that Universal is known to raise their prices two times per year. If you book today, you can get today’s prices and not risk these price raises. When you consider that Universal typically raises their ticket prices at least 4% and up to 10% per year, it’s easy to see that this can be a significant discount.
Don’t buy the Universal Studios Express Pass until you’re in the parks
The Universal Studios Express Pass is a magical pass that allows you to skip the lines on almost every ride. If you’re used to visit Walt Disney World, note that this is different than their Fast Pass+. While Disney allows you to choose three rides to skip the lines on, they require you to set the time that you’ll be riding those. This Express Pass for Universal works on every ride with the exception of a few, and requires no advance scheduling.
There’s another big difference between this option and Disney World’s option: It’s not always necessary. While even the low seasons typically see significant lines at Disney World on the most popular rides, this is not always the case at Universal. If you’re looking for Orlando Package deals during off-peak times, then you may end up with minimal lines at all. Even during busier months, the lines here are nothing like they can be at Disney World.
That’s exactly why we don’t recommend including the Express Pass in your Universal Studios packages. It can be quite expensive – at least $99 per ticket – and if you end up not needing it, you will have wasted a significant amount of your budget. Fortunately, it doesn’t cost a cent more if you add it the day you visit.
As a result, we recommend going to the parks and deciding while you’re there if you want to upgrade and add the Universal Studios Express Pass. If you do, then just visit your closest customer service desk and pay the fee. Also note that if you want to add it just for a few hours a day, it’s actually half price when purchased after four P.M.
Build a custom package that works for your exact needs
There are plenty of pre-selected Orlando package deals, any one of which may or may not work for you. That said, we always recommend creating your own custom package. This ensures that you’re not missing out on something that’s important to you, nor are you paying for something that ends up not being important to you and your family.
Start by choosing your lodging. You’ll use our tool to enter in the dates you’ll be traveling as well as how many adults and how many children will be in your party. Choose from a wide range of hotels near Universal Studios or book a vacation home for as little as $89.99 per night.
Once your lodgings have been chosen, it’s time to decide what ticket will work best for you. As we mentioned, we recommend getting a base ticket only and getting it for the shortest amount of time that may meet your needs. If you end up needing additional days, you can add those just like you’d add the Express Pass – by visiting any customer service counter.
Getting the best deals on Universal Studios Packages in 2017 ensures that you can spend as little as possible while enjoying yourself to the maximum. We recommend booking as early as possible but even last minute trips can be more affordable than you might think.
