Kissimmee Florida Hotels

If you are vacationing to Disney World this year, and you desire an exceptional hotel at a better than wholesale nightly rate then you should be looking for a hotel in Kissimmee, Florida. When the first park was built in Disney World in 1971, Kissimmee was a small country town that mainly consisted of orange groves and cow pastures. Fast forward a few years and with the ever growing popularity of Disney World, Kissimmee was transformed into one of the hottest family vacation destinations in the world.

Here are two great Kissimmee hotels which we represent:

Holiday Inn Maingate East

This is one of the newest interior corridor hotels near Disney. It is also one of the best kid-friendly properties in Central Florida. The Holiday Inn Maingate East offers: FREE scheduled shuttle service to Disney World, a kids eat free program, game room, state of the art fitness center, a huge outdoor swimming pool, kid’s pool, and a large playground. The Holiday Inn is one of the few hotels in Kissimmee which offer the special kid suite rooms. Here mom and dad have their portion of the room and the kids have theirs. These rooms are extremely popular with families.

Baymont Resort Kissimmee Florida

The Baymont Hotel offers some of the nicest rooms of any Kisssimmee hotel. This property was brought to the market as a condo hotel in 2007. Prior to that time, the property was closed and redesigned in full. The furniture was designed specifically for the room and the amenity package is quite unique. Here you get a microwave, refrigerator, 42” plasma flat screen television, granite counter tops, his and her sinks in the bath area, a fitness center and a Deluxe Continental Breakfast for all guests staying at the hotel. This is one of the closest hotels to Disney World, and the rates are as low as $49.

Important Information to Know about Kissimmee Hotels

Hotel rates are cheaper in Kissimmee – The nightly rates for hotels in Kissimmee are generally 40% less per night as compared to hotels inside Disney World, also compared to nightly rates in Lake Buena Vista the rates for are generally discounted some 15%.

Kissimmee area is more mature – To be honest, most of the hotels, restaurants, and shopping venues on state route 192 where built in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. The area is not new, but in recent years many of the major chain hotels (such as Holiday Inn, Baymont, Radisson, etc.) have been buying hotels in this area and pouring huge money in renovations to these properties.

Close to all the Attractions– Since this area was the first developed area near Disney World, it is lined one family attraction after another. If you drive down State Route 192, the main road in Kissimmee, you would notice everywhere you turned a Dinner Show here, a putt-putt golf course there, a go cart track here and public golf courses, helicopter rides, and the list goes on and on. In short, there are a myriad of family activities in this area than just Disney World.

Advice on making a hotel reservation

Note: many of the hotels in Kissimmee are older. The last thing anyone wants is to make a reservation at a hotel only to find out it is not what you expected especially after your arrival. To insure you are booking a nice hotel here are a few tips:

1)  Look for the Disney Good Neighbor Symbol – Many of the Kissimmee hotels look to Disney World to assist them in filling their hotel. A hotel that is classified as a Good Neighbor is one that has met certain criteria set to get visitors from the parks. This marketing program was developed in early 1990’s. The hotels participating in this program have met the standards of offering nice accommodations and great customer service.

2)  Book with a name brand hotel. The reason hotels fly National Hotel Chain Flags such as Holiday Inn, Baymont, Radisson, Sheraton, etc is to give you an understanding that they have met standards that the brand requires to be a franchise. When you book with these, more times than not the rooms are most attractive.

3)  Look at pictures of the hotel, a wise man once said, a picture is worth a thousand words.
