Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
His holiday season, there will be a plethora of events, parties, and occasions vying for your precious family time. It can be the most itinerant and hectic time of the year. It’s a shame, really, when the holidays should be some of the most peaceful and enjoyable months out of the year. The main cause of stress during this time is trying to fit too much into the six or so weeks surrounding Thanksgiving and Christmas. Instead of having a wonderful time going from party to party and seasonal event to event, the result is often higher stress levels and lack of quality time spent with anyone.
To make the holiday season more enjoyable and memorable for everyone, you just have to take a little time to plan ahead. With the number of people that you want and are obligated to spend time with, it can be difficult to find events that everyone will enjoy. The focus should not only be quantity but quality. While simple family gatherings at someone’s home are nice, there are some special things to do, which can also provide an atmosphere of warmth and joy as well as create life long memories. If you’ll be in the Orlando area during November or December, one such event is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
You’ll find that, although it takes time to fully enjoy the event, it can be a time to spend quality time with family members of all ages. It is a large event that will add some sparkle to your family’s Disney vacation plans and it actually requires very little planning. Once tickets are purchased, there’s really no other thought that needs to go into this event. Your family and friends just have to get there. Once they do, Disney takes care of the rest and a day’s worth of entertainment is at hand.
Attending Mickey's Christmas Party
One of the great things about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is the snowfall. Most people visiting Orlando during the holidays will be visiting from other climates. Some will miss their traditional snowfall and “white Christmas.” Others will have never experienced a snowfall. Surprisingly, it snows at the Magic Kingdom every day during this event. Santa Claus makes appearances throughout the park during this event as well. Kids seeing Santa means one more holiday “must” can be crossed off the list for this season.
Regular park admission will not carry over to the Christmas Party. An additional ticket will need to be purchased for around $62 per person. In past years a wristband has been issued to identify park attendees who have purchased the additional ticket. Those not wearing the wristbands will be asked to leave the park at 7:00 p.m. This year Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. on the following dates:
November 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 29 and December 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20
Included in the special event are special holiday parades (one of the appearances by Santa Claus) and an amazing fireworks display. Free cookies and cocoa are also provided while you stroll down Main Street under falling snow. During this event you can still enjoy the usual attractions and rides of the Magic Kingdom, so rest assured, there is plenty to keep everyone busy and entertained in the happiest place on earth.
