Calling all Star Wars fans to Orlando this May. The heat is on, and with vaccinations increasing, and social distancing guidelines implemented across the parks and Orlando, it’s time to book the ultimate Star Wars Fan day to Walt Disney World Hollywood Studios where you can journey to Galaxy’s Edge.
Planet of “Batuu”
This gorgeous new addition to Hollywood Studios brings to life an aspect of Star Wars like you’ve never seen before. You’ll be transported to the planet of “Batuu” where you can join the Resistance if you get a boarding pass, buy galaxy-themed wares, make your own lightsaber and determine if you will join the dark side (sorry, there are no cookies, we checked). Or you can visit Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities and purchase a replica saber of the Jedi’s of old.
There you’ll meet creatures from another galaxy, but don’t get too close, you don’t want to get swallowed up. You can grab an intergalactic bite from Ronta Roasters or get a cloak at one of the many market places along the cobbled streets of Batuu. You’ll even have a chance to adopt any number of space pets, including the Bantha cow whose milk is a delicious treat on this idyllic ‘planet.’
Star Wars on the Homefront?
Not looking to journey out of this Galaxy on May the Fourth and would rather celebrate at home? We’re all about that. Here are some fun ways to gather the family and geek out on this prolific franchise.
One way we all can celebrate is by watching every ‘Episode’ of this iconic series. After all, what can be better than the lights dimmed down, the air conditioner blowing, and our favorite space movies playing while the family gathers around to watch? With a total of eleven movies, you’ll have more than a full days’ worth of watching to do.
More Star Wars Activity Ideas
Want to be more interactive? You can have a dress-up day at home. Kids love this, and you can turn it into a low-key party by picking up or making some cupcakes or cookies, with some punch. Dress up as your favorite character and take pictures! Or hit the stores early in the morning and pick up a Star Wars-themed Lego or puzzle set to do with the family.
We’ve included a few websites where you can print out free printables and activities to do at home!
So, there you have it! Don’t forget that we can help you book your out-of-this-world trip to Galaxy’s Edge, but in the meantime… feel free to let us know how you like to celebrate May the Fourth.
Happy Star Wars day and May the Fourth be with you!
