National Cheddar Fries Day
My mouth is already watering at today’s “holiday.” Who doesn’t love potatoes? They are definitely good in a variety of ways. However, sliced into French fries and drowning it in cheese is one of my favorites. If you’re coming to Orlando to visit, there are several places to get tasty cheddar fries, both in and out of the parks. In order to satisfy your craving, we will list both, and also give a little history behind today.
History of Cheddar Fries
Believe it or not, Cheddar Cheese fries weren’t officially created until 1978. Snuffer’s Restaurant and Bar created them at their first location in 1978. A staple of one of Dallas’s most well-known eateries. They are made with fresh-cut Idaho potatoes, and layers of freshly grated, aged Wisconsin cheese. These sinfully delicious fries come with an assortment of toppings, like bacon, chives, and jalapeños. National Cheddar Fries Day was made an official holiday in 2016.
Want to observe this unique day on your own? Call up for your favorite restaurant and order some for delivery, or if your visiting Orlando you can order them at any of these delicious restaurants.
Hot Dog Hall of Fame
At Universal’s CityWalk, after you park and before you enter either of the Universal theme parks, CityWalk’s Hot Dog Hall of Fame is a favorite for fresh delicious fries. While their menu consists of mainly hotdogs with different toppings, their French fries come steaming hot and you can order them separately with chili and cheese, or without. Make sure to mobile order so you can be in and out when you get to the restaurant.
Hard Rock Café
Another favorite place on Universal’s CityWalk to get cheddar fries is the Hard Rock Café, and with so many delicious items on their menu you’re going to want to pick up an appetizer or two also. You can reserve a table or just order pick up by using the Universal App.
The Leaky Cauldron
Another place to get some delicious cheddar fries is Fuddruckers, located off of South Apopka Vineland Rd, near Disney Springs. Fuddruckers is a classic hamburger joint that offers fresh-cooked burgers and milkshakes.
There are many other great places to get cheddar fries, but these are just the highlights of Orlando. Happy eating, and please make sure to let us know what your favorite picks are!
