When
flying in should you rent a car? If you are flying into Orlando you
will definitely want to rent a car. Just to take a shuttle service from the
Orlando International Airport (MCO) to the Disney World or Universal Studios
area will cost you around $17 per person. This is really expensive when you
consider a family of four (4) will pay $68 to get to their destination and
then another $68 to return to the airport, for the same amount of money you
could almost rent a small economy car for your entire stay. In fact, most
car rental companies will offer economy cars for around $22 a day. So for
a 5 day stay, it will cost the family with taxes and everything around $120
for the car.
How do I get the best deal on my Orlando Car Rental? We
recommend using RentalCarMomma.com.
Funny name but they provide serious savings. Here is a trick to make sure
you are getting the absolute best deal. With rental car companies you can
make a reservation online, but they do not charge you until you actually come
to pick up the car. We suggest our clients make a reservation, and then go
to the counter when they get here to Orlando and ask them for their absolute
best deal on a car. If they give you a lower price then go ahead and take
it, if not tell them that you have a reservation. Please note, don’t
try this if you are coming in during high season, because you could find the
car rental companies are sold out.
Do I need to rent a car if I am staying in a vacation home: If you are staying in a vacation home, condo, or townhome you will need to rent a car. These properties do not provide shuttle service to and from the theme parks.
The
hotel I’m staying at offers free Shuttle service to the local theme
parks, why do I need a car? Most of the hotels around Disney World
provide free shuttle service to the area theme parks. Please note, these shuttle
buses run 2 or 3 times in the morning and usually 2 times in the evening.
For example a typical shuttle schedule is: going to the park 9am, 10am and
11:30am, returning from the park at 5pm and 9:30pm. If you have young children
or if your family is not the type to stay at the parks from opening (usually
9am) until closing (usually 9:30pm) then you should probably look into renting
a car.

How is easy Orlando to get around if I decide to rent a car? Orlando is quite easy to get around. Pretty much I-4 is the main road in Orlando and Disney World, SeaWorld, and Universal are easily accessible from the interstate. As long as you stay on the major roads Orlando is pretty easy to get around.
