Explanation of Disney World Tickets

» Navigation » Orlando Vacation

The key to reducing the price of your Disney World vacation package is to pick the right Disney World tickets for you and your family. The key to picking the right ticket is to understand the Magic Your Way Ticket system, which Disney invented in 2005.

Here is a brief explanation of the Disney World Magic Your Way Ticket System

Magic Your Way Base Tickets- The Magic Your Way Base Ticket allows you to visit one of the four major theme parks in a day. The parks you may visit with this ticket are: Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios. You may only visit one of the parks a day with the base ticket so if you go into Hollywood Studios in the morning you may come and go out of Hollywood Studios as many times as you would like but you cannot visit another theme park again that day.

Option- You can add three different options to your base ticket. The options include the park hopper option, the water park fun and more option, and the non-expiration option. Each one of these options will add about $50 to the price of your tickets.

** Orlando Vacation Disney World Planning Tip**

When purchasing your Disney World Tickets our suggestion is to purchase the base tickets and then upgrade the tickets when you get here. The tickets look like small credit cards with a black magnetic strip on the back. To upgrade your tickets all you have to do is take the tickets to the customer service desk and pay them the upgrade fee (usually around $50). It only takes a couple of minutes for the Disney customer service agent to add the different options to your tickets.

Description of the options:

Park Hopper Option- This is the most popular option. This option allows you and your family to visit multiple theme parks in a day. For example, you may visit Animal Kingdom in the morning and then hop over to EPCOT in the afternoon. All four major theme parks at Disney World are connected through the monorail system so hopping from park to park only takes a few minutes.

Water Park Fun and More Option- This option allows you a set number of entrances into Disney two water parks (Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach), Disney’s Wide World of Sports, and Disney Quest. If you purchased a 7 day base ticket and you added this option you may get 5 entrances into the parks listed above.

Non-Expiration Option- If you have any unused days left on your tickets then you might want to upgrade your tickets to the non-expiration option. This option will have any unused days never expire, so you could use those unused days on another trip to Orlando.
