If you are heading to the Orlando area in January, and want to see one of the shows, arrive at Sea World early on the performance date, some events may be crowded. If you are not traveling with a small child and are not planning on seeing the event, avoid Sea World on event days if possible–the live performances will draw larger crowds than usual to the park.

Look for performances in January featuring:

January 14th, LazyTown: Sportacus and Stephanie promote healthy living and fitness–through a fun series of Lazytown stories.

January 21, Max & Ruby: A live action version of the popular animated series featuring rabbit siblings Max and Ruby.

January 28, Doodlebops: Sing, dance and play with the Doodlebops, originally seen on the Disney channel.

February 4, Choo Choo Soul: The hiphop duo makes learning and dancing fun for all ages.

The live performances are included with your Sea World admission, but you will need to pick up a show ticket n the day of the event to save your seat. Performances are scheduled for 11am and 2pm, but you should head to the Nautilus theater first thing in the morning to pick up your tickets and secure your seats.

Other kid and family friendly events for January include half price stroller rentals on event days and “buy an adult ticket, get a child ticket free” for select special programs.

1. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (Disney’s Hollywood Studios): Take the plunge down a dark elevator shaft in this fully themed adventure. The Tower of Terror incorporates all the little touches Disney is known for–and you’ll get a different experience each time, thanks to some innovative ride programming.
2. Hulk (Universal Orlando, Islands of Adventure): From the green track that dominates the Islands of Adventure skyline to the load roar emitted  by the ride vehicles, the Hulk is one of Universal’s most thrilling experiences. Expect surprises and extreme G-Forces from the stunning launch through the inversions and corkscrews offered by the Hulk. You won’t catch your breath until you are back on the ground.
3. Expedition Everest (Disney’s Animal Kingdom): Disney’s latest coaster is one of its greatest thrill rides ever. Expect to experience high speed twists and turns, a full ride reversal and an encounter with the resident Yeti himself.
4. Kraken (Sea World): Billed as Orlando’s tallest, fastest coaster, the Kraken is one of Sea World’s most thrilling attractions, with huge drops and multiple inversions. The ride car is floor less, so riders feel as though they are whipping through space. This ride is visually intimidating–so the line may be shorter than you would expect. You can board Kraken without a huge wait time almost any time of year–if you dare.
5. Dragon Challenge (Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter): While the Dragon Challenge lost a little of its bite earlier this year, the coaster still offers plenty of thrills for riders, offering side by side tracks, plenty of high speed inversions, twists and turns. A bonus for young riders is the Harry Potter-inspired theming. Arrive at the Wizarding World early if you want to ride Dragon Challenge–the line can be as scary as the ride itself if you show up later in the day!

The Halloween Spooktacular offers plenty to see and do and is the perfect place to spend a weekend afternoon if you have small children. Sea World offers plenty of whimsical strolling characters and a Halloween experience that is centered on fun, not scares. Choose this event if you want to enjoy the season without seeing a lot of scary or gory sites; the focus here is on fall and fun.

Guests visiting Sea World’s Halloween Spooktacular can expect to visit plenty of dedicated Trick or Treating stations featuring different kid friendly candies, including Airheads, Mentos and assorted chocolates. Arts and crafts, sand art and even caramel apple decorating stations are available at different Spoooktacular locations as well.

Part of the fun of visiting Sea World is seeing Shamu and his watery pals. October is a great time to visit Sea World, with fewer lines and great weather, so you’ll be able to spend plenty of time visiting with the park’s marine inhabitants while you explore the party.

Little ones will enjoy the Sesame Street themed Countdown to Halloween, featuring Count Von Count and the opportunity to meet Elmo and pals. Kids are welcome to show up in costume for this event.

The Halloween Spooktacular is included with your regular park admission; there is no additional charge for attending the Halloween events. I am a firm beliver that competiton makes for a better customer experience, and while Universal Studios and Sea World are great theme parks they don’t really compete with Disney World in regards to yearly admissions and number of attractions. I was hoping that through the Black Stone Merger of Universal Studios and Sea World, Disney World and the Black Stone Group would get into a theme park arms race. This arms race would ultimately attract more guests and provide an even better overall experience.

The reason Sea World is going to be changing the show is that it is lacking since the trainers are not allowed in the water with the gigantic mammals. We have also learned that even though there is going to be a new show, we should not expect to see the trainers in the water anytime soon.

Whatever they come up with, you can bet the show is going to be much more lively than it currently is. Sea World is a great theme park, and everything they do is first class. Don’t forget to order Sea World vacation packages for 2011.

Sea World has a lot of great events planned for November 2010

November 13 – January 3 presents The Polar Express Experience. Packed with fun rides you will live to cherish for a long time. As visitors commence the Polar Express Experience, classic scenes from the movie on which it was based are recreated in a multi-sensory experience plunging passengers in special lighting, scent, sound and motion effects. Upon arrival at the North Pole, visitors will discover a winter wonderland surrounded by holiday cheer and amazing animal encounters.

Also in November is the Winter Wonderland on Ice at Sea World’s Bayside Stadium. It features towering water fountains, magnificent fireworks and some of the most talented skaters in the world as they dazzle and delight families from November. Clyde and Seamore’s Countdown to Christmas also starts in November and runs through January; the sea lions and walruses are sure to treat you and your family to a swell time.

At Sea World Orlando Christmas begins in November with all sorts of experiences like the Sesame Street Christmas packed with festive and exciting musical sessions. You get to see cartoon and famous TV characters like Abby Cadabby, Elmo, Big Bird, and the likes in November at Sea World Orlando.

One of the biggest attractions in November at Sea World Orlando is the Miracle show performed by Shamu. The Shamu stadium is basically transformed into an arena filled with bright glowing candle lights and Christmas carols as Shamu thrills the crowd.

Another new attraction is the elaborate Sea Carousel also at Shamu’s Happy Harbor. The Sea Carousel is a marine themed adventure ride topped with a colossal 45 feet wide octopus. Riders can board in a wide array of sea creatures, reaching up to sixty five in numbers that include gigantic exotic fish, sharks, dolphins, sea lions and otters among many others. There are also quite a number of new attractions, including the jelly fish themed tower ride and water spout inspired tea cup ride, perfect for couples and children alike who wish to experience the wonders only Sea World can offer. Guests can also enjoy the Jazzy Jellies that spin and lift families in jelly fish like seats and adventurous young adults can spin around in behemoth seats while spinning around in a giant water spout. Filling its belly of up to twelve children or adults, it can lift riders up to 20 feet up in the air before a deep plunge on a vertical descent.
