Orlando Vacation - Spring Break 2010

It seems like 2010 just started, but believe it or not, Spring Break is upon us and an Orlando vacation is a great way to spend it. As if the car I saw the other day with "Florida or Bust: Spring Break 2010" sprayed all over it wasn't proof enough, my neighbor's kids are taking FCAT this week. That's always a sign that Spring Break is starting soon.

Spring Break starts at different times for different places as well as different education levels. Elementary, Middle, and High Schools normally have Spring Break a different week from colleges. But generally, it can be anytime between March 8th to the 22nd each year. So around the second through fourth weeks of March is when you will find more crowds at theme parks in warm climates like Florida. As you can imagine, that means that Disney, Universal, and Sea World can be quite bustling during this time.

If you'll be among the Spring Break-ers of 2010, you may be wondering which park or parks should be placed at the top of your priority list. Of course, the answer to that depends on many factors. Disney's Magic Kingdom is always a favorite for young children, and truthfully, there is probably more to do there for that age group than any other Orlando theme park. Sea World is second for the under ten crowd. Disney's Epcot and Hollywood Studios are perfect for mixed age groups. Disney's Animal Kingdom is great for people who have visited the usual theme parks in the area multiple times. Most people do not place this park at the top of their lists, so now may be the best time for you to go there. For teenagers and college students, Universal offers the most extreme rides and usually appeals to this age group more widely than some of the other parks.

However you prioritize them, all of the theme parks in Orlando are amazing and have something different to offer. And don't be concerned about it being "peak season." You can still find good deals on Orlando hotels and attractions, if you do a little homework.
