Happy Birthday Disney Parks!

Yesterday, the original theme park Disneyland celebrated it's 52nd birthday. The park, which opened in 1955, became a great success and is the inspiration for the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. 52 years later the Disney name is found on eleven theme parks across the world, including America, France, Japan, and Hong Kong.

Spaceship Earth to Lose Wand

In 2000, a large sculpture of Mickey's hand holding a gigantic wand was erected next to Spaceship Earth at Epcot. Many Disney fans found the placement of the rather large statue to take away from the beauty of the architecture. Apparently, Disney also agreed as the entire sculpture is going to be taken down over the next couple of months. The process should be finished in time for Epcot's 25th anniversary in October.
