Question and Answer

Hi all,

Lisa here...as promised I present our very first question and answer. Today's questions is regarding Disney's Magic Your Way tickets:

Question:
Are Magic Your Way tickets valid on holidays, such as Christmas and New Years?

Answer:
Magic Your Way tickets are valid 365 days a year. The only thing they are not good for is the "hard ticket" events such as Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. The "hard ticket" events require a special ticket at an extra charge, and generally take place at night, after park closing.

If you plan to visit any of the parks on a holiday, arrive very early (7 am is not too early) and prepare to wait at the gates. The parks close their gates when they hit capacity and will not reopen until the park begins to clear out. Magic Kingdom in particular often hits capacity shortly after opening on holiday mornings.

Should you find yourself locked out of your park of choice due to capacity, have a security guard radio the other parks to check if they are open. If you have the Park Hopper option, you can then go to another park and have Cast Members there check via radio periodically to see if your original park choice is open yet. Often they will reopen in the early afternoon, though this is never guaranteed.

Keep those questions coming to lisa@orlandovacation.com, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

The next big Disney Prize

While reading the Orlando Sentinel this morning, I came across a section about the Year of a Million Dreams. We already reported a few weeks back that a family from up north won a free afternoon in the Disney Parks all by themselves.

The next prize Disney will be giving away is a stay in Cinderella's castle. Now that is cool.

Also, I can't end this posting with out saying Orlando hotel reservations are going fast during Christmas, so call and make your plans today.

Orlando vacation hotel reservations

I was talking with a guest yesterday who was planning their vacation to Orlando for next year, and she struggling with the idea of making the reservation so early.

I’m here to tell you, if you think you are coming to Orlando or any other destination for that matter during Spring Break or during the Summer Break I suggest going ahead and making your reservations now. Here are a few reasons for doing so:

1) Orlando hotel reservations are just like airline reservations. We all know when an airline starts to fill a plane up set for a certain destination the prices for the remaining seats will always be higher than what they first started selling them for. Orlando hotels work the exact same way, all hotels are always trying to maximize their profits. The best practice is to check the properties cancellation policy, if the policy is fair then go ahead and make the reservations.
2) Theme park ticket prices always go up in January. Disney Theme Park employees are all union employees as well, so they are guaranteed a raise every year. Disney simply passes the wage increase over to the theme park goers. The ticket prices typically go up 3.5% to 4% each year. The best practice is to make your reservations as early as possible, this way you will be able to lock yourself into the previous years prices, hence saving you the price increase.

These are just two reasons you should go ahead and make your reservations early. At Orlandovacation.com all we ask for is a small $50 deposit and no other money is due until 15 days prior to your arrival. If you need to cancel reservation we will refund to you $35 of the $50 deposit, as long your cancellation request is done 15 days prior to your arrival. You are only risking $15, and by making the reservation early you may save yourself $150 or more.

Orlandovacation.com is about to go through a face lift

OrlandoVacation.com is proud to announce over the next three days we will be introducing three theme parks experts who have decided to join our team. Each one of these experts will be in charge of a certain area on Orlandovacation.com website.

Our main goal at Orlandovacation.com is to rent vacation homes, hotels, and sell discount theme park tickets. Yes, we are in business to make money; however, over the past three months we have been working hard behind the scenes to bring in three top theme park experts to help our readers plan their Orlando Vacation.

Our goal is simple…since most of our clients are not Orlando theme park experts we wanted to associate ourselves with expert writers in Orlando to help our clients get the much needed information they are seeking. When I was talking with everyone of our potential writers, I was very specific in what we are looking for- valuable content. So many websites are writing for the search engines, stuffing their articles with keywords, and others are simply re-writing articles they found from other websites. This is not what we are looking for; our goal is to be the number one Orlando vacation website. To do this we need to provide the best information possible.

We hope you will visit us periodically throughout the year as we are planning many upgrades to our sites, and article planning section.

Orlando Vacation Reservations

If you are coming to Orlando in December we suggest you make your reservations very soon. Orlando vacation homes and Orlando hotels are booking up extremely fast, and we don’t want to you miss out.

Here are a few helpful hints in planning your vacation.

1) Buy your theme parks tickets before you come to Orlando- If you can believe it, Disney World, Universal and SeaWorld are going to be filled to capacity by 11am for the days right after Christmas. The Christmas/ New Years season is our most popular time of the year. By ordering your tickets before you come, you will avoid having to wait in line at the theme parks to buy your tickets. Every year we see families who have waited in line for over an hour to buy their tickets to only be turned away because the parks have met their capacity.

2) Make your reservation for your vacation home today- There is only a limited number of Orlando vacation home rentals and once they are gone, they are gone. Condos and town homes have become very popular in Orlando recently so you might want to check them out as well.

3) Orlando hotel shuttle services- If you are looking to stay in an Orlando hotel, it is a good idea to decide which theme parks you want to visit. This way you can make sure your hotel you choose will provide free shuttle services to the parks you want to visit. Some hotels just offer shuttle service to Disney while others offer free shuttle service to Disney, Universal and SeaWorld.

To make a reservation for Christmas all we require is a $50 deposit. This deposit will hold your reservation on vacation home/hotel plus your theme park tickets. The remaining balance is due 15 days prior to your arrival. If something should come up and you can’t make the vacation, and you call us 15 days prior to your arrival to notify us that you are cancelling, we will refund $35 of the $50 back to you.

Gatorland Update

We have good news to inform everyone about Gator Land and the tragic fire which broke out this morning. They have found both gators which they feared were killed, and they might even be able to open for business this weekend.

Breaking Orlando Vacation news

Driving into work this morning, I was shocked to hear that Gator Land was on fire. It has been reported that no animals or Gator Land personnel were hurt during the fire, but the building which housed the gift store and executive offices were destroyed.

I must say...I am very saddened to hear this news. Gator Land staff are great people to work with and our best wishes go out to them during these hard times.

Cheap Disney Tickets

In searching on the internet this weekend , I tried to come up with the best discount ticket site in Orlando. I graded each site on the following: 1) is it professionally designed 2) would I actually pruchase discounted tickets from the site 3) did the site provide enough information for me to make a logical decision 4) where the discounts enough to even bother with purchasing the tickets early.

Please check out wdwpackages.com if you are coming in Orlando, cheap disney world tickets.

Orlando Vacation planning

If you are looking to come to Orlando during Christmas of 2006, I would say that you need to go ahead and make your reservation today.

We only require a $50 deposit per reservation for an Orlando hotel, and if you cannot make it for any reason all you have to do is call us 15 days prior to your arrival to notify us that you are not able to make it and we will refund to you $35.

Don't be shut out of the busiest travel time in Orlando. Things are filling up fast!
