Disney Hotels
Looking for the utmost in comfort and convenience? Stay in the finest Disney hotels Orlando has to offer! We represent two of the most popular Orlando vacation hotels in the Disney World area: the Best Western Inside Walt Disney World and the newly renovated four-star Hotel Royal Plaza. Both of these properties are literally across the street from Downtown Disney and Disney's Marketplace and right in the middle of all the excitement of Walt Disney World!
Priority Seating: Explained
Priority seating has replaced reservations at most of WDW's full-service restaurants. Disney started the policy to provide the assurance of a reservation without delays caused by no-shows and latecomers. Ideally, the system ensures that guests are not left waiting if a table is available. Here's how it works: You call ahead to request a priority seating time; you arrive five minutes before the assigned time and check in at the podium; you receive the next available table that can accommodate your party. The system works like reservations, so you will always be seated before any walk-ins. They can be secured up to 90 days in advance, too!
Orlando Area Highways
The most important Orlando traffic artery is I-4, which runs diagonally through the area from southwest up to northeast, cutting through the southern half of Walt Disney World. It then angles on toward Orlando and Winter Park, ending near Daytona Beach at I-95, which runs north and south along the east coast of Florida.

Orlando Vacation Packages
Tom Sawyer Island at the Magic Kingdom
This small patch of land inthe middle of the Rivers of America has hills to scramble up; a working windmill, and a few dark caves. To reach the island, guests take a raft across the river. Keep an eye out for the large mounted maps scattered about the island. A great way to relax here is over lemonade and a snack at Aunt Polly's Dockside Inn.
Universe of Energy at EPCOT
One of the most technologically complex experiences at EPCOT, a show called Ellen's Energy Adventure consists of several movies and a ride-through segment. None of these is exactly what guests might expect. This is especially true after the pavilion's 1996 major renovation, which repackaged the attraction, placing its legendary Audio-Animatronics dinosaurs and lofty environmental message in a decidedly funny and much more personal context. [Did you know?: There are two acres of solar panels on the rooftop of Future World's Universe of Energy pavilion. Together, they generate 15 percent of the energy it takes to power the attraction housed inside!]
Magical Gatherings
If your party numbers eight or more, you can take advantage of Walt Disney World's Grand Gatherings opportunities. You and your party can reserve space at a number of festive group events, such as the "Safari Celebration Dinner," "International Dinner and IllumiNations Dessert Reception," or "Magical Fireworks Voyage." Planning specialists are available to assist Grand Gathering groups with special celebrations, dining, and recreation reservations.
Leave a Legacy
The Leave a Legacy program, held over from Disney's Millennium Celebration, invites guests to leave their mark on the park. This cluster of odd monoliths inside Epcot's main entrance is covered with images of Walt Disney World guests etched on one-inch square tiles on massive stone walls. To purchase a tile, inquire at the kiosk within the Leave a Legacy vicinity. One tile costs $25. Each additional tile costs $20.
Should You Rent a Car?
If you plan to spend all of your time on or around Walt Disney World, you can spare yourself the expense. Shuttle service from the airport to all area hotels is available around the clock, and taxis are in good supply. Within Disney, an vast network of transportation brings guests to and from the parks. Most area hotels offer their own bus or shuttle service to and from Disney theme parks. However, for those planning to visit Orlando-area restaurants and any attractions outside Walt Disney World, a rental car is a must.
Quick tip: Vacation Homes in Orlando
Wild By Design Tour at Animal Kingdom
This is a 3-hour experience that invites guests to learn how art, architecture, historical artifacts, and storytelling were combined to create Disney's Animal Kingdom. The tour takes place in the park itself, not behind the scenes. As guests explore various lands, a guide offers insight into the complexities of caring for wild animals and their habitats. A light continental breakfast is served at the halfway point of the tour. Cost is $58 per person.

Speedboating at Disney World
If you've been to Walt Disney World before, you've no doubt seen folks tooling about in zippy, little speedboats. But have you ever actually given one a try? It's an experience we highly recommend. For starters, the watercraft known as Sea Raycer boats are a bit speedier than their Water Mouse predecessors. And it's an experience everyone in the family can enjoy, though guests need to be at least 12 years old and at least 5 feet tall to drive. Expect to pay about $23 for a half hour.
Adventurers Club at Pleasure Island
This place is modeled after the paneled libraries and elegant salons of similar clubs of the 19th century and is packed with memorabilia. Most of the items on display were collected at garage sales, antique shows, and shops from around the world by Disney Imagineers. The two-story club is littered with stuff, so stroll around and snoop all you like. If you have a seat at the bar, ask the bartender to work some magic; your stool may slowly sink toward the floor!
