Take a day off from the parks

» Navigation » Orlando Vacation

Visiting all of the Walt Disney World theme park in a short amount of time can be quite a struggle on your body. It is essential, especially if you have small children, that you plan for a day or two away from the parks to allow yourself to recharge your batteries. Here are four great things to do on your day off from the theme parks.

Make a stop at Downtown Disney - Here you can kick back and watch the latest hollywood films in the state-of-the-art 24-screen AMC theater. Also, you may want to reserve a good seat to see the spectacular Cirque du Soleil - La Nouba.

Relax in your resort's pool - There nothing better than enjoying a nice dip in the pool on a hot, summer day in Florida. Most Kissimmee hotels offer great swimming pools!

Go shopping - Take a stroll down the shops at Downtown Disney, Mall at Millenia, the Florida Mall, or one of the countless roadside shops on the very popular International Drive. You will find that shopping for souvenirs outside of the theme parks can save you quite a bit of money.

Visit other theme parks - Okay, this doesn’t really sound like you are taking a day off but Orlando has 52 total theme parks. These smaller budget themes parks cost about 1/3 the money of Disney World, but they are a lot of fun to visit. It is important to note, when you visit these parks you actually think you are getting a day off because these parks often times have no lines and you get a lot of personal attention from the employees.
