Dining on the Run
» Navigation » Orlando Vacation
Here are some great tips you can follow in order to save yourself and your party some time and money on your trip to Disney World.
- If you desire to eat in fancy (expensive) restaurants, we suggest going at lunchtime, rather than at dinner; entrees often cost a bit less at the midday meal. Some restaurants also offer great discounts if you eat during off peak hours (2pm-4:30pm).
- Sometimes certain Epcot eateries have early-bird dinner deals; it pays to ask. Sometimes these restaurants offer buy 1 entrée get 1 free.
- Carry sandwich fixings and have lunches alfresco when possible.
- Look for lodging with kitchen facilities: The savings on food, especially at breakfast time, may be more than the extra accommodations expense.
- Pack kid-friendly snacks, such as fruit, cereal, or even a lollipop.
- Don't plan on eating three big table-service meals a day. It gets expensive--and filling!
- A souvenir mug can be purchased at most resorts, good for refills during your stay at the resort.
- Our Orlando vacation homes and some Orlando hotels come equipped with a refrigerator, which will help you keep your home-made snacks fresh.
- The Trail's End Restaurant at Fort Wilderness has an inexpensive, yet satisfying all-you-can-eat country breakfast buffet.
- Eat small meals in the park and larger meals outside of the parks before and after your visit.
